The stem cells technology

Healing the body by means of its own resources has been the dream of medicine since ancient times; nowadays these stem cells allow the replacement of “ill or degraded” cells with new regenerative cells.
The mesenchymal stem cells are multipotent stem cells which have the ability to transform into several different lineage-restricted cells such as: fat, muscle, cartilage, bone, nervous cells.
The ability to transform themselves is determined by many scientifically determined growth factors as well as by the local plasticity phenomenon (copying the features of the cells of proximity) which causes in the receptive area a growth of the existing cells, fact which causes local regeneration. The stromal fraction is the plurality of cells which are found in the precipitate after the digestion of fat which contains: 7% – endothelial cells, 9% – smooth muscular cells, 22% – blood cells, 23% – microfagus cells, 38% – CD34 / CD31 / CD45 phenotipically marked cell growth factors , 5% – CFU-F cell stems. It is injected on a previously drawn fat filler which is the lipofilling; it has the ability to create an internal culture environment where the mesenchymal stem cells develop.
A part of the prepared sample is sent to the cell biology laboratory which creates a witness sample to check the evolution of the cell stems.
The mesenchymal stem cells or the forerunner adipose cells are the most proliferating lineage of multipotent stem cells and the healing solution in the case of multiple maladies such as: myocardial infarction, regeneration of varicose ulcers, regeneration of chronic plagues, bone reconstruction, multiple sclerosis, mandibular reconstruction, diabetes, chronic fistula, nerve regeneration; many of these studies are in clinical phase 1 or 2.

Mesenchymal stem cells

Nowadays fat is the most important source of stem cells in the body, exceeding a hundred times the one in the red marrow. The plastic surgeons’ ability to harvest fat easily has propelled us in the first line of actual scientific discoveries.

In our clinic we have developed a revolutionary procedure of isolation of stem cells from fat, presented at the Congress of Regenerative Surgery in Rome 2012, after which many doctors from Argentina, France, Switzerland, Egypt, England etc have started using the RADU PROTOCOL isolation method.

Congress of European Society of Aesthetic Surgery in Instanbul on 20/06/2012

Dr Radu Ionescu presented this paper representing Romania, in the “Voice of Europe” competition for the best paper in 2012 awarded with ‘ULRICH HINDERER PRIZE’.
It is for the first time in the history of the Romanian Society of Aesthetic Surgery that a representative of Romania is awarded this prestigious prize.
